    Insanae et vanae curae

    HAYDN, Franz Joseph
    29,07 €
For the revival in the Burgtheater, Vienna in March 1784, Haydn modernized his oratorio "Il ritorno di Tobia". He added the choruses "Ah, gran Dio" and "Svanisce in un momento", the second of which, called "Der Sturm", was reworked in the sacred motet "Insanae et vanae curae". This was an authentic or an authorized parody. - full score

    Messe Sainte Cécile

    Gounod, Charles
    29,07 €
arrangement; originally for orchestra. In its original version this work for soli, choir, organ and orchestra became known as Gounod’s most well known setting of the Mass both in France and beyond its borders and it was considered the representative contribution to French church music of the 19th century. Already during his lifetime several (some anonymous) arrangements for smaller ensembles were made, including the present version for two equal voices. The four-voiced vocal part from the full score was reduced to a version for two voices, while the organ or piano accompaniment of the original vocal score was, for the most part, retained. - full score

    HAYDN, Franz Joseph
    28,08 €
Haydn wrote the Missa Sancti Nicolai in 1772, probably for the name day of prince Nicolaus Esterházy. This work is on a larger scale than the other missae breves, and in the orchestra two oboes and two horns join the strings. At the very beginning of the Kyrie the gentle, pastoral character which distinguishes this work is established. Haydn reprises the music of the Kyrie in the Dona nobis pacem to round off the work. The full score contains at the same time the organ part. This work is now available in carus music, the choir app! - full score

    Salve Regina in g

    HAYDN, Franz Joseph
    25,95 €
Haydn composed his four-movement Salve Regina at Eisenstadt in 1770/71. It is distinguished by its use of the organ as a solo instrument. Here Haydn proves himself a master of the musical setting of the Marian text. Originally written for four solo singers, it may also be performed chorally. - full score

Missa in C sub titulo Sti....

    Haydn, Johann Michael
    28,03 €
Johann Michael Haydn’s masses are masterpieces of their genre. Carus is publishing these important works in Urtext editions. Of the thirty masses, almost two thirds contain a saint’s name as part of their title. The names relate to the dedications of monasteries or parish churches, name days, ordinations or consecrations, diocesan patron saints, or anniversaries. Three masses with the names of Archangels survive (Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael), all early compositions by Haydn in the concise Missa Brevis form. He probably composed the Michaelsmesse MH 12 in Vienna before 1758. This mass belongs to the festive type “brevis et solemnis” because of its scoring with two trumpets. - full score

    Messe solennelle

    Vierne, Louis
    26,99 €
The Messe solennelle op. 16 for mixed choir and two organs by Louis Vierne was composed in 1899. At its world premiere in St. Sulpice in December 1901 Charles-Marie Widor played the main organ and Vierne the choir organ. The work belongs to the highlights of the late Romantic organ masses and more-over is comfortable for the choir to sing. The present edition is based upon the first edition that was published in 1900 by Pérégally & Fils in Paris. Due to practical reasons a performance with two organs is often not possible, therefore, parallel to the original edition, the publishers have also published an arrangement for choir and one organ by Zsigmond Szathmáry. Additional editions in the Series Choir & Organ - full score

    Rinck, Johann Christian Heinrich
    25,95 €
Among the numerous Requiem settings of the 19th century, only very few are scored for male voices. Although several compositions (by, amongst others, Max Reger and Peter Cornelius) are designated ‘Requiem’, these are usually only single-movement works, not settings of the entire text of the ordinary. To date, only four complete settings for male choir - by Luigi Cherubini, Franz Liszt, Hugo Kaun and Lorenzo Perosare - are known. With the first edition of the Requiem by Johann Christian Heinrich Rinck for solo voices, male choir and organ, a further work is being made available for performance. Rinck, celebrated as the "Rhenish Bach" and as a worldwide famous composer, wrote it in 1836. - full score
